IHCHR Calls on Security Forces to Investigate Fate of Dr. Saba Al-Mahdawi

Based on the appeal made by the mother of Dr. Saba Al-Mahdawi, asking the Iraqi High Commission for Human Rights and security forces to investigate the fate of the civil activist (Dr. Saba Al-Mahdawi), who was kidnapped Saturday evening Nov.2, 2019 by unknown persons at Bayaa area of Karkh District in Baghdad .

Civil activist Dr. Mahdawi is one of the doctors volunteering to treat and provide first aid and primary health care to Tahrir Square demonstrators.

As the IHCHR calls on the security forces to investigate the fate of the civil activist, it reiterates its demands to reveal the fate of all activists and take the necessary measures to protect (protesters, activists, bloggers, media and journalists) from the systematic abductions they are subjected to in Baghdad and other central and southern governorates.
